Subscriptions and tiers

Fabled has a free plan and two paid plans, Standard and Premium. The free plan is usable on its own: a casual group can run a long campaign on it. Paid plans raise your limits and add tools.

Your plan belongs to your account, not to a campaign. Each player's limits follow their own plan, so everyone at the table can stay on Free.

What every plan includes

  • Building characters in The Forge.
  • Joining and running campaigns, up to your plan's limit.
  • Buying content from the marketplace. Free accounts can buy any bundle.
  • The AI chat assistant, for help while you build and play.
  • Browsing and using community content.

Limits by plan

These are the limits the app enforces today. The subscriptions page shows the current comparison and prices, so treat it as the source of truth.

  • Free: 3 campaigns, 6 characters, 3 boards, 1 book, 500 MB of media storage and a 20 MB upload size.
  • Standard: 10 campaigns, 50 characters, 10 boards, 7 books, 5 GB of storage, a 50 MB upload size, 25 soundboard sounds and 25 custom emojis.
  • Premium: no limit on campaigns, characters, boards or books. 15 GB of storage, a 100 MB upload size, 100 soundboard sounds and 200 custom emojis.

Your plan sets one limit on the active campaigns you belong to, whether you run them or have joined them. Archive a finished campaign to free a slot.

What paid plans add

  • Custom-content editors. Building frameworks and frames starts on Standard. Free accounts can open the editors to look around, but saving prompts you to upgrade.
  • Monthly AI Energy. Standard and Premium include a monthly Energy allowance for AI generation. Premium gets the larger allowance. Amounts can change, so check the comparison on the subscriptions page.
  • Monthly honor points and cosmetic rewards. Standard and Premium both get them, and Premium gets more honor points. See cosmetics for how rewards reach your collection.
  • Premium only. The Roll Prompter / Manager, the AI Session Summary tool, and campaign boosts.
  • Larger storage and uploads. The most common reason to upgrade.

Selling on the marketplace

Selling does not depend on your plan. Anyone can apply to become a seller, and applying is free. To sell paid bundles you need an approved seller account with Stripe payouts set up. Free bundles need no seller account. The marketplace overview covers the steps.

Billing and changing plans

You can pay monthly or yearly. A yearly plan gives you two months free. Upgrades take effect when the payment clears. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period, so you keep what you paid for until then.

Payment details, invoices and cancelling happen in the Stripe Billing Portal, which you reach from the Subscriptions page. When a cancelled plan ends, your account drops to Free and your content stays. Anything over the free limits stays too, but you cannot create more until you are back under them.
