The marketplace is the platform's storefront. Creators publish bundles of content (a framework for a homebrew system, a map pack, a 200-NPC roster, a multi-session adventure module); buyers add bundles to their account and use the contents in their own campaigns. The transaction is one-time per bundle; once you own a bundle, it stays in your library forever.
What is in a bundle
A bundle is a curated set of any combination of:
- Frameworks (the rules for a homebrew system, an alternative class, a custom monster type).
- Frames (custom character sheets, prettier item cards).
- Elements (pre-built NPCs, monsters, items, encounters).
- Media assets (maps, tokens, portraits, music, ambient tracks, handouts).
- Adventure modules: a campaign-shaped package combining a story arc, the NPCs who appear in it, the maps each scene uses, and the GM notes that drive each session.
The bundle's product page shows exactly what is inside before you buy. Marketplace listings include a description, a screenshot gallery, a sample (often a free taste of the framework or one map from a pack), and a list of supported game systems.
What buying does
When you buy a bundle, three things happen:
- The bundle's contents appear in your library, marked as marketplace-owned. You can drop them into any campaign you run.
- Marketplace assets do not count against your storage cap. The platform serves them from the seller's account.
- If the seller publishes a free update to the bundle, your copy auto-updates next time you load it. Major version changes notify you in-app and let you stay on the previous version if you prefer.
Two restrictions on bought content
Bought content behaves like your own with two intentional limits:
- You cannot republish it. A bundle bought from the marketplace cannot be re-listed for sale, in whole or in part. The seller retains exclusive marketplace rights.
- Edits are local to your library. You can fork any framework or element from a bought bundle into a private copy and modify it for your own table; the original stays untouched and your edits are not visible to other buyers. Forks are easy to undo if you change your mind.
Selling on the marketplace
Selling is gated to the Premium tier specifically (not just any paid tier). A Standard subscription buys you the larger storage caps and advanced session features but does not unlock marketplace publishing; the Premium tier adds the seller dashboard, KYC flow, and payout setup. The seller-side flow is:
- Build the bundle the way you would for yourself. Frameworks, frames, NPCs, maps, the lot.
- Open the seller dashboard and create a listing. Upload the cover art, write the description, attach the bundle, set a price.
- Submit for review. The platform team checks the listing for content, copyright, and quality. Most listings clear review in a few business days.
- Once approved, the listing is live. Sales accumulate in your seller dashboard and pay out monthly. The platform takes a percentage; the rest is yours.
Where to go from here
- If you want to walk through the buy flow, the Browse and buy from the marketplace how-to covers it from search to checkout.
- If you are setting up your seller account for the first time, the partner store guide (sidebar, under Partner) walks through the additional KYC and payout setup.
- If you want to understand which tier unlocks selling, see the Subscriptions and tiers concept page.
