Step 1: Open Active Encounters from the tray

On the tabletop screen, click Active Encounters in the tray at the bottom of the screen.

The blade lists the encounters currently running in your campaign. If none have been started, it shows an empty state.

Step 2: Select the encounter you want to run

Click Add Encounter at the bottom of the blade to open the Select Encounter dialog.

Use the search field to find an encounter, or open your campaign's Encounters folder and click the one you want.

Check the preview panel, then click Start Encounter to open the encounter.

Step 3: Review the encounter blade

The encounter opens in its own blade. It shows the encounter's difficulty for your party, an Initiative Tracker, the description, and the NPC roster.

The Quick Start and End Encounter buttons sit at the bottom of the blade.

Step 4: Roll initiative with Quick Start

Click Quick Start at the bottom of the encounter blade.

The Quick Start Roll dialog lists the combatants selected for the roll and the roll settings. Review them, then click Quick Start Roll to confirm.

Step 5: Check the Initiative Tracker turn order

Initiative is rolled for every combatant. The Initiative Tracker in the encounter blade updates to show all combatants in turn order.

Step 6: Place NPCs on the map

To place all NPCs at once, click Add All NPCs to Scene, then click a spot on the map. The NPCs are arranged as tokens around that point.

To place a single NPC, click Add to Scene next to that NPC in the roster, then click a spot on the map.
